We’re excited to announce the successful completion of our survey across the Great Lakes! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and shared valuable insights for our project. As promised, we conducted a lucky draw among the participants, and the winners have been awarded their prizes. Congratulations to the lucky winners! Stay tuned for more updates as we continue making progress on our journey. We successfully organized a 'Knowledge Exchange Meeting' in Windsor from 30 September to 2 October 2024. The meeting took place at the Great Lakes Institute for Environmental Research, Windsor ON. The primary aim was to develop a network of Great Lakes provisioning fisheries researchers and practitioners. We used this meeting to better understand, share, and discuss provisioning fishers throughout the Great Lakes. We hope to build a community of practitioners and partners that we can collaborate with to ensure our research is relevant and addresses community-level priorities and knowledge gaps. Emma Rice met recreational anglers from Detroit. She had a total of six meetings with different angler groups in the summer of 2024. Information collected from these meetings will be used on her PhD thesis. You can learn more about her study here. |
