Study Overview
Recreational fisheries, like all fisheries, achieve long-term success by enforcing fishing rules and regulations that anglers are required to follow. The extent to which recreational anglers adhere to and value these rules plays a critical role in ensuring the sustainability of recreational fisheries over time.
This study aims to (i) estimate the effectiveness of fishing rules and regulations in the Great Lakes, (ii) assess individual attitude and the existing social norms towards different fishing practices, (iii) evaluate the level of different trusts between anglers and local managers, leading to cooperation between them. |
Preliminary Results
We will launch an online survey for this study, which will run from January to April 2025. We will share our findings and it's implications with recreational anglers and local managers. Stay tuned!
