Understanding the Importance of Fishing for Food in the Great Lakes
This project is on fishing for food in the Great Lakes. We are looking for what species you target, what motivations you have for fishing, if you fish for food, and if you are aware of the rules around fishing.
If you or others you know want to participate in this study, you must be:
An individual who has the experience of fishing on the shores in the Great Lakes fisheries.
Understanding the Importance of Fishing for Food in the Great Lakes
This project is on fishing for food in the Great Lakes. We are looking for what species you target, what motivations you have for fishing, if you fish for food, and if you are aware of the rules around fishing.
If you or others you know want to participate in this study, you must be:
An individual who has the experience of fishing on the shores in the Great Lakes fisheries.
This is a 15 to 30 minutes study. You are asked to fill out a questionnaire about your experience on this tablet with the support of a researcher.
Participants are compensated with a bait or tackle. This study has been cleared by the Carleton University Research Ethics Board B (Protocol #118242).
If you completed the questionnaire, you have up to two weeks to withdraw by providing your unique code.

Most sport fish in this area to eat ONE MEAL PER WEEK but some species may be more or less restricted. For additional information about how to eat fish safely, including the number of fish that should be eaten per month to avoid toxicity, please consult the following resources:
